Summary of Duties: Responsibilities include teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, generation of high quality peer-reviewed scholarship in the field of product development/design, and participation as appropriate in committees and other service activities in AMDT, the college, and WSU. The successful candidate will develop a scholarly program in the area of product development/design. The successful candidate will seek external funding to support research/scholarly activities, conduct collaborative projects, and disseminate results. For the rank of Associate Professor, the successful candidate should possess a record of excellence in both scholarly and educational activities. Teaching responsibilities include two courses per semester (four per year) in the area of design/product development, consistent with their expertise and the department's needs. The successful candidate will provide high quality research, teaching, mentoring, and support to produce job-ready on day one students in the textile and apparel industry.
Required Qualifications: ? Earned Ph.D. degree in the area of Apparel, Merchandising, Design and Textiles with an emphasis on product development/design or related field at the date of hire. ? Candidates at Associate Professor level must have served at least 6 years as an Assistant Professor or equivalent at the date of hire.
