Join the team leading the Sewing & Stitchery Expo in Puyallup, Washington. WSU Conference Management seeks to fill the needed industry export role of Education Manager. The position is located on the WSU Puyallup Research and Extension Campus located within 30 miles of Seattle, WA.
The Education Manager is responsible for developing, organizing and executing over 100 sewing and stitchery related classes throughout a four-day event. Responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing and/or managing diverse activities such as teacher recruitment, class creation, ticket sales, volunteer recruitment and more. The incumbent should have a high level working knowledge of sewing and stitchery related topics.
Holding offices in Puyallup, WA and Pullman, WA, WSU Conference Management leads the region in event management, partnering with federal and state agencies, non-profits, and university colleagues to deliver exceptional event experiences for clients and attendees.
Required Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant extension program discipline and three (3) years of related experience in the program specialty. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Prefer a Masters Degree with three (3) years related experience. Demonstrated teaching experience and evaluating community projects and experience in preparing educational materials for low literacy and diverse populations.-Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule.

-Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively lead the work of others to excellent outcomes.

-Demonstrated ability to use electronic communication methods and computer programs including web browsers, WordPress, Microsoft Office.
-Must possess, or be able to obtain at time of hire, a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications: -A Masters Degree with three (3) years related experience. -Years of education and experience in the clothing and textiles industry -Current presence in the sewing and stitchery industry -Prefer a Masters Degree with three (3) years related experience. -Years of education and experience in the clothing and textiles industry -Current presence in the sewing and stitchery industry -Past or current leadership and involvement in sewing and stitchery industry programs and events -Experience trend tracking and implementation of industry ideas and practices -Well-versed knowledge of additional related sub-industries
