Summary of Duties: Responsibilities include teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, contributing to innovative curriculum and program development, facilitating growth of industry relationships and expanding departmental revenue streams, and participating as appropriate in committees and other service activities in AMDT, the college, and WSU. Formal teaching responsibilities will include courses in several of the following areas (generally three courses per semester): merchandising, retailing and consumer behavior, global sourcing, supply chain management, textiles, and product development. The successful candidate will contribute to the AMDT mission primarily in the areas of teaching, service, curriculum development, and student engagement.
Required Qualifications: Earned Ph.D. degree in the area of Apparel, Merchandising, Design and Textiles or related field by the date of hire.
Required for Associate Rank: Demonstrated evidence of outstanding teaching; Demonstrated evidence of leadership in teaching, curriculum development, and service; Candidates at Associate Professor level must have a minimum of 6 years combined college teaching and/or professional practices related to textile and apparel merchandising and product development.
